What's Done is Done !

Every Thursday I attend a Christian organization on campus called Chi Alpha.  Our services are normal to almost every Assembles of god Church. We have worship and then we listen to the pastor speak his message.

Our pastor always talks about things that are on his heart. This Thursday it was a little different from any other Thursday.  We happened to watch a video and then evaluate it with our own personal thoughts and opinions.

This message on the video was about what is and isn’t appropriate for Christians. The  should and shouldn’t s we should watch or listen to in our everyday lives.

Chi Alpha eventually got into a little debate about movies, for example Harry Potter. Some thought it was okay and other that it was horrible because it has witch craft throughout the movie. What was eventually brought up was that Narnia, a Christian based movie, also had “Dark Magic” throughout the movie.

Eventually we stopped our little disagreement and our pastor told us just to think about what can hurt or help our walk in our faith. So I started paying attention to some movies I watched.

Later on in the week, I happened to watch Narnia.

While watching the movie one thing had popped out the movie that just kind of stuck.
During the movie, after Edmund was saved and he had had a conversation with Aslan, The lion, Aslan told Edmunds brother and sisters this –

“What’s done is done;
there is no need to speak to Edmund about what is past.”

What a powerful statement. To me this is one of the most affective words in the whole movie.

All over my social networks I see friends and families fighting of what HAS happened. They dwell on the things of the past instead of the present or even the future. Instead of just forgiving them once they fall in to their own traps and have failed time after time.

If we would just generously forgive our friends and family and actually attempt to change our ways maybe we, as a generation, can start to make a change in this world. If we run full force like an army toward our enemy or in this cause the negativity in this world, our generation, can start to make a change in this world.

For when we forgive Someone, we ourselves are forgiven We feel as if a load has been lifted off of us. And once we have that load off of us we start to blossom in our gifts and talents instead of focusing on being mad at the world for the HAS BEEN!

So remember –

What is Done is Done!

Have a blessed day –

  1. Hi Alecia, I was looking for some of my best past students' blogs to show the current class. Your name came to mind, and I must say, I was not disappointed. I'm glad you still have your blog up and running, and sharing your thoughts. I'm honored to have you as a student, and sincerely hope other students will find your blog postings very useful.
    I like your reflections on the "what is done is done". Keep it up.
